+Do I need a visa to visit Brazil first?
US, UK, EU and most western passports get 90 days visa-free for tourism. The VITEM XIV digital nomad visa is applied for at a Brazilian consulate before arrival, or converted in-country in some cases.
+Is Brazil safe for digital nomads?
Like any large country, it depends where. Pipa, Florianópolis and Madeira-style beach towns are very safe. In Rio and São Paulo follow standard big-city rules: no flashy phones in the street, use Uber after dark.
+What's the income requirement for VITEM XIV?
USD 1,500/month from a foreign employer or contracts, OR USD 18,000 in savings. Provide bank statements and an employment/freelance letter.
+Can I open a Brazilian bank account?
With a CPF (tax ID, easy to get) and a residence visa, yes. Nubank and Banco Inter are nomad-friendly digital options.
